Terms and Conditions

general

These clauses constitute all the terms and conditions of the contract of carriage concluded between the Customer/Passenger and Transportes J.L. Rangel, Inc.

At the time the travel ticket is issued, the Customer/Passenger accepts and submits expressly and with full knowledge to the following general contract clauses and the tariff table in force at the time of the issuance of the aforementioned ticket:

Travel ticket

  • Upon issuance of the travel ticket, the Passenger is responsible for verifying that all information contained in the ticket is in accordance with his or her request, and accepts the general terms and conditions of the travel ticket contract.
  • The travel ticket is personal and non-transferable, being the only valid proof of travel, on the date and time printed.
  • In case of loss of the ticket, the Passenger may request a duplicate ticket, assuming the responsibility of paying the corresponding administrative cost of the new printed ticket.
  • Changes and delays will be accepted, up to 7 days before the scheduled travel date indicated on the travel ticket, for a cost of $20.
  • Transportes J.L. Rangel, Inc grants a maximum period of 30 days to reschedule the trip, starting from the initial date of travel. In the event that the ticket is not used on the updated date, the ticket will be canceled and invalid.
  • Transportes J.L. Rangel, Inc does not grant refunds or money refunds, only postponements or rescheduling according to the previous conditions.
  • Tickets and/or boarding passes presented by any person other than the printed name will be considered null and void and will be confiscated.
  • Purchases made by bank card are subject to approval. A complete billing address and/or personal identification number (PIN) will be required to complete the purchase.

Travel rates

  • Ticket prices are subject to change without notice.
  • Discounts and promotions are not cumulative or combinable.
  • All fares are quoted in US dollars; unless otherwise stated.

Baggage in the hold and inside the bus

  • The Passenger is entitled exclusively to 01 bag of 80 pounds per adult ticket or 01 bag of 60 pounds per child ticket.
  • The excess will be admitted when the capacity of the bus allows it.
  • If you exceed your baggage allowance during peak season such as summer, an overweight fee will be charged and space will be allowed on a space available basis.
  • In the cabin or inside the bus, only 01 piece of hand luggage is allowed, which can be a backpack, bag or briefcase with a maximum of 10 pounds.
  • You are not allowed to travel with cardboard boxes, plastic containers or laundry bags.
  • Transportes J.L. Rangel, Inc is not responsible for valuables not declared at boarding and transported as baggage.
  • Transportes J.L. Rangel, Inc is not responsible for items left on buses or in terminals, nor for lost luggage inside the bus. Its care is the sole responsibility of the Passenger.
  • Transportes J.L. Rangel, Inc is not responsible for baggage detained by customs authorities. No responsibility will be accepted for loss, breakage, damage or deterioration of any item being transported.
  • The Passenger is responsible for carrying all the documentation required to be able to cross international borders.
  • Drivers are not allowed to wait for passengers for more than 20 minutes if the passenger does not have valid and current documentation at customs checkpoints.
  • Passengers may not carry weapons or objects prohibited by law that could endanger the safety of passengers. It is the passenger's obligation to allow and give all the facilities to the company's personnel to carry out the revision of their hand luggage and their person.
  • It is not permitted to transport in the boot and/or cabin:
    • Illegal drugs, chemicals and/or toxic substances
    • Illegal weapons, firearms, explosives and/or flammable objects
  • Pets are allowed to be transported in their own carrier, which must comply with the relevant safety regulations and be properly fitted out.
  • Pets must remain in their carrier for the entire journey. It is prohibited to carry pets on passengers' laps, without a carrier or outside the carrier during the journey.

During the trip

  • Luggage is not allowed on the seat; hand luggage must be placed in the overhead compartment or under the passenger seat so as not to block the passage.
  • All passengers must remain seated until the bus driver indicates that they may leave the bus.
  • Smoking is prohibited on the buses or in the offices of Transportes J.L. Rangel, Inc..

Boarding process

  • Passenger embarkation and disembarkation shall only take place at authorised terminals or stations.
  • Passengers must be present 1 hour before the departure time of the bus in order to hand in their luggage. Once the bus has departed, there will be no room for postponement or refund.
  • On boarding, Passengers must present their travel ticket and identity document.
  • With the exception of seats assigned by online purchase, or for disabled and elderly passengers, seats are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis and without regard to race, colour, creed, national origin or any other protected characteristic.

Children

  • Children between 2 and 10 years old have access to a reduced fare. From 10 years and older, children must travel in their own seat and pay the adult fare.
  • Passengers under 18 years of age may not travel unaccompanied unless permitted by a parent with a notarized letter of consent to travel authorizing the minor passenger to travel with Transportes J.L. Rangel, Inc.
  • Children under 18 years of age who cannot look after themselves must be accompanied by a person over 18 years of age.
  • Passengers travelling under the guidance of Transportes J.L. Rangel, Inc. will not be eligible for reduced fare tickets.

Adults

  • Elderly or senior citizens who are unable to look after themselves must be accompanied by a person over 18 years of age.
  • Passengers may not travel under the influence of alcohol and/or narcotics; or when their state of health is visibly unsuitable for travel (unless a medical certificate is presented), forfeiting the value of their travel ticket.
  • Transportes J.L. Rangel, Inc. may refuse service to passengers if:
    • The passenger fails or refuses to comply with the rules and regulations established by Transportes J.L. Rangel, Inc.
    • The passenger acts in a disorderly or violent manner.
    • The passenger is not fully clothed or is partially undressed.
    • The passenger obstructs the driver's functions.
    • The passenger's behaviour is threatening to himself or to other passengers.

Service

  • Scheduled times are based on local time zones. Departure dates and times are subject to change.
  • Transportes J.L. Rangel, Inc is not responsible for delays caused by breakdowns, road conditions, weather or any other condition beyond the carrier's control.
  • Transportes J.L. Rangel, Inc is not responsible for any related expenses due to delays.
  • The passenger is covered by the compulsory insurance policy contracted by Transportes J.L. Rangel, Inc.
  • Transportes J.L. Rangel, Inc is not responsible for failure or interruption in the provision of additional benefits (such as WiFi, charging port for mobile devices, individual screen or others) granted as a courtesy, not being part of the contracted service.
  • The passenger is covered by the compulsory insurance policy contracted by Transportes J.L. Rangel, Inc.

Privacy policy

  • Transportes J.L. Rangel, Inc does not sell or share personal or financial information with third parties. However, personal and/or financial information may be shared with third parties as deemed necessary for the following purposes:
    • Credit card processing and fraud prevention purposes necessary for the purchase of tickets.
    • Legal purposes or compliance with a government agency, law enforcement or subpoena, and/or as required by law.
  • Transportes J.L. Rangel, Inc collects and uses full name, phone numbers and email address in order to secure and purchase a bus ticket.
    • The full name is required to be printed or digitally displayed on the boarding pass, inter alia, for security purposes.
    • The telephone numbers are necessary, among other things, for communication in case of emergency, updating the itinerary and confirming reservations by SMS.
    • Email is required for e-ticket delivery and/or policy relating to travel, marketing and itinerary updates.
  • We collect, use and disclose personal information to provide you with the service you have requested and to offer you additional services that we believe may be of interest to you.
  • The purposes for which we collect personal information will be identified before or at the time of collection. In certain circumstances, the purposes for which information is collected may be clear and consent may be implied, such as when your name, address and payment information is provided as part of the ticket purchase process.

  • This website is operated by Transportes J.L. Rangel, Inc. The terms "we", "us", "us" and "our" refer to Transportes J.L. Rangel, Inc. Use of our website is subject to the following terms and conditions of use, as amended from time to time (the "Terms").
  • You should read the Terms and Conditions or disclaimers presented on the pages of our website. Please review the terms and conditions carefully.
  • The Terms apply to all users of our website, including but not limited to users who are browsers, customers, merchants, vendors and/or content contributors. If you access and use this website, you accept and agree to be bound by the Terms and our Privacy Policy.   • We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone, at any time, for any reason.
  • We reserve the right to make changes to the website, including terminating, changing, suspending or discontinuing any aspect of the website at any time without notice.
  • We may impose additional rules or limits on the use of our website.
  • You agree to review the Terms periodically and your continued access to or use of our website will signify your acceptance of any changes.

Errors and omissions

  • Please note that our website may contain typographical errors or inaccuracies and may not be complete or up to date.
  • We reserve the right to correct errors, inaccuracies or omissions and to change or update information at any time, without notice (including after a ticket has been purchased).
  • Such errors, inaccuracies or omissions may relate to service description, price, promotion and availability, and we reserve the right to cancel or refuse any ticket purchased on the basis of incorrect price or availability information, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
  • We do not undertake to update, amend or clarify information on our website, unless required to do so by law.

Discrimination complaints

  • If you believe that Transportes J.L. Rangel, Inc. has violated your rights, you may file a complaint by submitting a Title VI complaint form. Transportes J.L. Rangel, Inc. investigates complaints received no more than 30 days after the alleged incident. Transportes J.L. Rangel, Inc. will process complaints that are complete.
